About Me
My name is Samuel Eslamdoust and I am a Teacher in training. I am a former software engineer with more than a decade of experience in industry.
Having worked on small and large projects, in big and small teams, at companies like Microsoft, SurveyMonkey, and Telus, I learned that my real passion was in educating and mentoring novices (usually, in industry, this would be recent university graduates or people entering into their second careers) and helping them become independent, competent engineers in their own right. This has led me to pursue further training to obtain a Bachelor of Education in order to become a more effective educator.
As for my professional practice as a teacher, as a matter of principle, I aspire to make my classroom conduct be guided by the words inclusive, respectful, and compassionate. With these as my guiding ideology, I hope to inspire confidence among my students, to create a space where questions are welcome and students aren't ashamed to ask me when they need help. My end-goal is to help develop their curiosity for knowledge such that they leave my class technically-competent and interested in pursuing further learning on their own.
